Academy Award Winner Rachel Weisz has dropped David Cronenberg’s latest film “Maps to the Stars.”

While conversing with Collider the actress stated that she was no longer working on Cronenberg’s film. She did not elaborate on why she dropped but rumor has it that her schedule impeded her to shoot the film.

Weisz also spoke about Terence Malick’s new film “To the Wonder” which she was omitted from. The actress stated that “I did it for the experience of working with him, but one never knows with Terrence Malick. You can shoot for three months and end up not being in the movie. That’s what happened to my storyline. So I had the experience of filming with him, but I didn’t get to see my work.” Weisz was supposed to play Dinah, a close friend to Ben Affleck’s lead Neid, who can’t bear to see him going through the emotional turmoil he is enduring.

Weisz last received a Golden Globe nomination for her turn in “The Deep Blue Sea” and also starred in “The Bourne Legacy” with Edward Norton, Jeremy Renner and Albert Finney. She is currently starring in “Oz: The Great and Powerful” alongside James Franco, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff and Mila Kunis and is getting ready to shoot Luca Guadagnino’s new film adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel "The Body Artist."The film will shoot in May. She will also star alongside her husband Daniel Craig on Broadway later this year.

Cronenberg’s new film will star Viggo Mortensen and Robert Pattinson and is a acidic study of Hollywood. The film was written by Bruce Wagner.
