The Vancouver Canucks look to end their slump when they take on the last place Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
Vancouver has won once in its last four and is coming off a tough shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks.
"Our record isn't as good of late, but we know we can play some better hockey," Canucks forward Mason Raymond stated.
The team had prime opportunities to win the game on the power play but failed to connect.
"In the third period, [the power play unit] did everything they could but beat the goaltender," Canucks coach Alain Vigneault added. "The looks were there, the opportunities were there, their goalie made the saves."
Goaltending had been a major strength for Vancouver early in the season; unfortunately it has not been an advantage of late. Roberto Luongo has not won a game since Feb. 22, while Cory Schneider has recorded two wins his last six games.
The Blue Jackets are currently riding a two game winning streak thanks to a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers. In that match, the team managed to blow a 2-1 lead but eventually tied the game after falling behind 3-2.
Derek MacKenzie, Vinny Prospal, and Jack Johnson were the scorers for Columbus, while Sergei Bobrovsky earned the win with 21 saves and no goals allowed in relief for Steve Mason.
Predictions: Vancouver wins this game 5-1.
