On Wednesday March 6th, Carrie Fisher's reps denied the actress' participation in Star War Episoide 7.

Fisher's representatives told CNN that the actress was not being serious. A rep stated "She was joking, nothing has been announced."

The 56-year old thespian made headlines when she confirmed her appearance during an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated. Fisher told the publication that she would join the cast and that she considered the character "Elderly." "She's in an intergalactic old folks' home," she joked. "I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."

Many actors have been rumored for the film but a few weeks ago, Mark Hamill mentioned being talked to about returning to the role that made him famous. "They're talking to us," Hamill said. "George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts - they would write us out. ... I can tell you right away that we haven't signed any contracts. We're in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed -- on their end, not mine. They're more busy than I am."

Aside from Hamill's participation, Harrison Ford is rumored to return for "Episode 7." However there has been no confirmation of his inclusion in the new film.

"Star Wars Episode 7" will be written by Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, Little Miss Sunshine) and directed by JJ Abrams (Star Trek). The film is slated for a tentative 2015 release date.
