At 20 years old, actress Selena Gomez still has her whole life ahead of her. A promising acting career, the launch of her clothing line and a tour later this year are just a few of the things that the former "Disney" star is looking forward to. And according to Gomez, love is something she still believes in as well.
Even after spending two years in a high-profile failed romance with teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, the "Spring Breakers" actress told Harper's Bazaar magazine that she has remained optimistic about love.
"To me, love is normal," she says in Bazaar's April issue. "Of course, you see Jay and Beyoncé and you're like, 'Oh, my gosh, they're perfect for each other,' but at the end of the day their love is just like everybody else's love."
Gomez also talked about living single after breaking up Bieiber earlier this year stating that she does not get "asked out a lot." She added, "It's not like I've wanted to go out and look for someone. I'm not really good at that."
Yet, in still, she knows that love is something she will always have faith in.
"I believe in love - yes, I'm one of those girls," she says.
"Most of my friends believe in love. I went out with Katy Perry last night. She's so fun and awesome, but it's cool to see someone older believe in love too. She is all about it, and that's how I will always be. I believe in stories like, 'Oh, I met him in Starbucks.' "
Before dating Bieber, Gomez was in a relationship with a boy who was not famous. "I've dated people that are not in the industry, and it does get really hard and stressful. My first boyfriend wasn't, and it all sort of started happening, so - " she says with a sigh. "I felt bad."
