According to actress Kate Winslet, the past few years of her life as well as going through a divorce has helped her find "soul mate." In Bazaar magazine's April issue, the "Titanic" actress opened up about her husband, career and past movie roles that have shaped her into the woman that she is today.
In 2001, Winslet divorced from film director Jim Threapleton after having a daughter and four years of marriage. In 2010, she separated from director Sam Mendes after having a son and spending nine years together in marriage.
Back in December 2012, the "Titanic" star revealed that she had eloped with the man of her dreams, Ned RocknRoll. Rocknroll, who was born as Ned Abel Smith, is the nephew of Richard Branson and works for Virgin Galactic. The couple met in August 2011 while on holiday on Necker Island.
"I've really learned a great deal about myself, in the last four years in particular. I think I can see more clearly now-about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am, and the characters I have played- and I'm grateful for that" said the British actress who's starred in blockbuster films including "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Revolutionary Road," and "The Reader."
The 37-year-old Academy Award-winning actress added that maturity has allowed to carry more of a burden than she was capable of doing when she was younger.
"I have so much more material to draw on for work- rubble, bricks- and I know I can carry it now," Winslet said. "I'm not going to drop it, and if I do, I'll sift through it. Does that make any sense at all? Probably not."
Bazaar goes on sale March 7th.
