Reality star Alana Thompson, better known as "Honey Boo Boo," is back in the business of selling Girl Scout cookies.
Last week, the Girl Scouts disapproved that the star of TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" was selling their cookies via the Internet. For one, Alana is not a Girl Scout and two, the organization forbids their members from selling products online because it takes away from the experience of growing as a leader when they sell cookies in person.
The 7-seven-old cutie posted a banner on her Facebook fan page advertising the cookies with the listed prices and encouraged her 700,000-plus fans to contact her for more information.
In response, Debbie Caballero, a marketing and communications officer for the Girls Scouts of Historic Georgia, told ABC News Radio, "What we felt was inappropriate is that it appeared that Honey Boo Boo herself was selling the cookies, and she's not a Girl Scout."
However, Honey Boo Boo's mom, June Shannon, or "Mama June," told E! News, "We have helped our family friend sell Girl Scout Cookies for the past three years. While Alana is not an official Girl Scout, we have followed all rules sent to us by the local council."
Nonetheless, Alana has decided to help her friend sell Girl Scout cookies at the Milledgeville Mall in Georgia. She was photographed by paparazzi holding a handmade sign urging shoppers to purchase cookies that read "Girl Scouts Cookies $3.50 each."
She also posted a message on her Facebook page, saying, "Well going to the milledgeville mall to help girl scouts sale cookies they will b there til 6. Come help come help them sell cookies today 3.50 (sic)."
