On March 2nd the cast of David Zepeda's new telenovela "Mentir Para Vivir" was formally presented during a press conference.
As recently noted, David Zepeda will play the lead role with Mayrin Villanueva as his love interest. Altair Jarabo reunites with Zepeda after "Abismo de Pasión" as the antagonist with Diego Olivera as her sidekick.
Villanueva stated that she was very happy to be part of the production and said that her character was a very dedicated wife and mother. She added that the character is called Oriana and she gives up her professional life when she marries villain Jose Luis Falcon (Olivera); however, her life will change when she meets Ricardo (Zepeda).
Oliviera said that his character Jose Luis is in love with Oriana but is very ambitious. Jarabo stated that Raquel will be Oriana's best friend but will end up betraying her.
Zepeda commented that his character Ricardo has a complex past and will fall in love with Oriana even though he suspects her of committing a crime. When asked by reporters if he would go shirtless, Zepeda joked and said that Sonora is very hot and there will be enough reasons to take his shirt off.
The series will be shot in Sonora, Mexico where they will shoot in Hermosillo, San Carlos and Bahia de Equino. Production will begin on Monday with a script by Maria Zarattini; the writer last worked with producer Rosy Ocampo on "La Fuerza del Destino."
The series, originally entitled "La Sustituta," will also star Alejandro Tommasi ("La Fuerza del Destino"), Lourdes Mungia ("Abismo de Pasión"), Alberto Agnesi ("Abismo de Pasión") and Juan Carlos Barreto ("Para Volver Amar"). It is set to air on May 7th and will replace "Que Bonito Amor" on El Canal de las Estrellas.
