Manchester City will continue its quest to catch Manchester United when it takes on a desperate Aston Villa.
Manchester City trails United by 15 points with only one game in hand. Villa sits in 18th place with 24 points and desperately needs the win to avoid relegation. "If we can win this one, it will be huge," said Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert. "It just gives you so much confidence to go into the next one."
The manager added, "You are there to win, regardless of whether it is Manchester City, QPR or whoever...We have to try and win. We are not going into it just to draw or anything like that. We want to win. The fans will make you drive forward as well. We are a threat going forward. The players know it's within their capabilities, that's for sure. Even against Arsenal, we shouldn't have lost."
"There is a lot of confidence there. We are playing well enough to win games. You have to get a foothold in it against sides like City. I'm a great believer in that in any game you play," said Lambert about his team's chances. "We are at home and the majority of the crowd will be with us and drive us on and we have to get in among it and try and not let them settle."
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini knows his team will be up against a desperate squad and respects their plight. ''Aston Villa are in a difficult situation. I don't know their situation very well but for me they have good players," said Mancini. ''But it is my opinion they have good players and probably they don't deserve to stay there.''
Prediction: Manchester City will win 3-1.
