Two bitter rivals face off on Sunday when the Montreal Canadiens visit the Boston Bruins. The two teams are currently tied with 30 points for first place in the Eastern Conference and this match will help one team attain an upper hand.
Montreal is coming off a 7-6 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday in which the team battled back from 4-2 and 6-5 deficits to earn a point.
"The best thing I can say about this game is that we came back and got a point," said Montreal Coach Michel Therrien. "This was a great game for the fans -- but this is the reason why coaches get gray hair."
"We showed character by coming back, but that's not the way we want to play," Center David Desharnais said after the loss. "We don't want to play a wide-open game like that, but we fell behind by two goals and we had to open things up."
"Crazy games like that happen," Montreal defenseman Tomas Kaberle added. "Too bad we didn't get the two points at the end of the night...We don't want to see games like that again. The previous games, we played good defensively and we have to get back to that."
The Bruins battled back from a 2-0 deficit on Saturday and took a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lighting; the team now owns a six game winning streak and has won eight of its last 10.
"It's not always going to be your way so you have to find ways to show some character," Center Patrice Bergeron said. "I think we've done that again tonight."
This is the second meeting of the season. Boston won the Feb. 6 encounter 2-1.
Prediction: Boston Wins 3-2.
