By now, everyone has heard of the new dance craze sweeping the nation, "The Harlem Shake." Although the dance has nothing to do with the uptown neighborhood in New York City or the original "Harlem Shake" dance, it's become an Internet sensation.
This dance routine is simple: each video when one person wearing a helmet or mask begins to dance alone to the song "Harlem Shake" by Baauer for about 15 seconds. The other people in the room initially seem unmoved by the person dancing in mask. However, once the bass drops, the video cuts to a scene of everyone, even people who weren't in the first scene, dancing wildly with costumes and various props.
Since the very first Harlem Shake meme was posted by five teenagers from Queensland, Australia on February 2., thousands of people have posted their own versions of "Harlem Shake Videos" on YouTube. So, of course that means that even top name companies and brands like Google have joined in on the fun.
