NBA legend Michael Jordan has been sued by a Georgia woman who claims the iconic athlete is the father of her teenage son.

According to the New York Post, Pamela Smith, who filed a paternity suit in Fulton County, Ga., claims that Jordan fathered her 16-year-old son during a 1995 tryst, while Jordan was still married to former wife, Juanita.

Her son has been identified as Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Roberts, 16, also going by the nickname "Taj."

The legal suit is demanding that Jordan pay child support and medical expenses from Jordan, while Smith also seeks to legally change her son's last name to Jordan while retaining custody.

On YouTube in December, "Taj" posted a video claiming both that Jordan was his father and he had met him, adding that he wanted Jordan to play a bigger role in his life.

Smith's spokeswoman, April Love, told the Chicago Sun-Times that Smith filed the suit against Jordan because she wants the basketball icon to formally "acknowledge his son," though Jordan already has talked to the teen and is aware that he is the boy's father.

"She's not bashing him. There's no animosity," Love said of Smith.

Jordan's publicist Estee Portnoy told ABC News that Jordan had no comment.

Jordan and ex-wife Juanita filed for divorce in 2006 after a 17-year marriage that produced three children. Both of their lawyers stated at the time that the decision to divorce was reached "mutually and amicably" between them.
