Porsche is working on the next generation of the 911 Turbo and GT3 variants following the release of the seventh generation of the super-car.
Combing all-wheel-drive and a turbocharged engine, the next generation 911 Turbo is expected to have no problem handling its way around inclement weather like the snow depicted in these spy photos captured by Motor Authority.
The 2014 911 Turbo is expected to be wider than its predecessor, judging from the prototype of the vehicle seen in spy photos, with a larger spoiler as well. The familiar side intake ports of the 911 can also be seen, while cooling vents on the flanks and quad-exhaust tips of the rear bumper can also be spotted on the prototype.
And the next generation Turbo is also expected to output 550 horsepower, as compared to the 530 horsepower of its predecessor, making it competitive with the Nissan GT-R.
There is also speculation that the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo will sport a tri-turbo setup that is expected to be more powerful than the current 3.8-liter flat-6 that pumps out between 500 and 530 BHP in both the Turbo and Turbo S models.
And the PDK dual-clutch gearbox paired with the turbocharged makeover is going to make this high performance vehicle even more impressive.
A seven-speed manual transmission is also expected to be available on the 2014 model.
The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo is expected to make a debut around the end of the year.
