The Colombian singer Shakira is on a roll.
The singer recently made news by helping UNICEF collect an ample amount of food and medicine for malnourished kids after publishing the pictures of her baby Milan Piqué on the organization's website.
Today, the singer is making news once again as she prepares to star as a coach on the hit show "The Voice."
In the U.S., the show has been one of the programs with the biggest audiences and now her addition to the judge panel will help capture the attention of more Latinos.
Shakira expressed her excitement via Twitter:
"One month until the season premiere of @NBCThe Voice!" the singer posted yesterday on her account.
This new season, starting March 25th, Shakira will be up against some returning faces -- lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine and country music artist Blake Shelton. She will also go up against new timer Usher.
Shakira will not only be in charge of representing women -- as she is the only female coach among the four contestants -- but should also be bringing a bit of Latin flavor to the show.
You might think that the "Hips Don't Lie" singer could be at a bit of a disadvantage in the show compared to the other three coaches because English is not her native tongue. Do not let the accent fool you, Shakira is completely fluent and no one is keeping her quiet this season.
"I'm very opinionated, I have an opinion for every single thing," the Colombian artist told Christina Milian during a mini interview for the show. "This is the opportunity to let out those opinions and be critical but in a very constructive way and see how I can help other colleagues because these are artists competing in this show."
There should be no doubt in your mind that come March, Shak will be ready to bring her A-game.
"The only thing I hope is that they underestimate me," she winks to Milian. "I'm going to succeed!"
