It's a time honored question. When you've engaged in battle on the gridiron, testing and exceeding your physical and emotional limits and win reach the top of the mountain...where do you go from there? Disneyland? Politics? No, "Dancing with the Stars", of course.
Super Bowl champion Jacoby Jones will be part of the latest group of contestants when the new season starts on March 18. Joining him on the dance floor will be such "stars" as boxer Victor Ortiz, singer Wynonna Judd, reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump, comedians Andy Dick and D.L. Hughley, actress Zendaya Coleman, actor Ingo Rademacher, singer kellie Pickler. Jones won't be the only athlete who has impressive hardware on his resume. Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman will also join in the race for the Mirror Ball. The 18 year-old won three medals (two golds, one silver) at last summer's Olympics held in London. Rounding out the cast is gold medal figure skating champion Dorothy Hamill. The contestants were announced Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America"
Jones likely hopes to follow in the dancing footsteps of Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver. All three players have walked away with the Mirror Ball trophy. Driver being the most recent recipient, having won alongside dancer peta Murgatroyd in Season 12 of the global franchise.
The wide receiver is no stranger to showing his unique dance moves on the football field, including his version of teammate Ray Lewis "squirrel dance". Jones will be partnered up with the popular Karina Smirnoff, who won the Season 13 crown with J.R. Martinez. Jones provided highlights of his own during the Baltimore Raven's Super Bowl victory, scoring two touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers. The Ravens will need some fancy footwork if it hopes to repeat as champtions, including negotiating a new contract for free agent Quarterback Joe Flacco.
