Las Vegas police on Saturday released the identity of the wanted suspect responsible for killing three people on the Vegas strip earlier this week.
Investigators are on the search for 26-year-old Ammar Asim Faruq Harris, CNN reports. Authorities consider Harris to be armed and dangerous, adding that he has "an extensive and violent criminal history."
Around 4:20 a.m. Thursday, police suspect that Harris drove up to a Maserati at the traffic light on Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard and shot the driver. The Maserati then drove into the intersection and crashed into a taxi that was struck by several on coming vehicles.
The driver of the Maserati was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The taxi driver and passenger died from the fire that engulfed the taxi. Three other people suffered injuries from the collisions.
Police were on the search for the SUV driven by Harris. That vehicle, described as a black Range Rover Sport with tinted windows and large black rims, has been found and was impounded.
The shot victim has been identified by police as aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry, 27. Police say Cherry and Harris got into a verbal altercation at a nearby casino, which led to the shooting. Family members say Cherry left behind three children.
The driver of the taxi has been identified as 62-year-old Michael Boldon and the passenger as 48-year-old Sandra Sutton-Wasmund. All three deaths have been ruled homicides by the coroner's office.
