Despite his tremendous performances and his claims that he is now happy at Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will likely find himself sold by the club this summer.
According to numerous reports, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has given up hope of making the Portuguese star happy and will sell him this summer to obtain funds to rebuild a new squad under a new manager. The Daily Star reports that Perez's frustration stems from Ronaldo's refusal to sign a new contract. The publication adds that with Perez's re-election is forthcoming and he needs to put together a solid team moving forward. Prime targets for Real Madrid include Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale, Manchester City's David Silva, Malaga's Isco, and Brazilian superstar Neymar. At age 28 Ronaldo is at the peak of his career, but his prime will not last much longer. The other aforementioned targets are all under the age of 25 and could make bigger impacts for the team in coming years.
Among the teams interested in Ronaldo are Manchester United, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain. Ronaldo himself has stated that he would love to return to Manchester, but PSG may be a more feasible move for the club. Back in December, reports indicated that PSG was reportedly willing to spend 125 million Euros. Ronaldo currently has a one billion euro buyout clause that makes him untouchable for most clubs. The superstar stated early on in the season that he was unhappy with Real Madrid. He has not yet been extended a new contract even though he still has two remaining on his current deal with Real Madrid.
