As the feud between New York Times writer John Broder and Telsa Motors continues, an unlikely Hollywood supporter on the side of the electric car company has emerged, "50 Shades of Grey" producer Dana Brunetti. Brunetti, who is one of many Hollywood owners opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about his thoughts on the Times piece, as well as Tweeting about it extensively.
Brunetti, along with others in the media, has criticized Broder for his review piece of the Tesla Model S during a trip from Washington up to Boston. The producer, who is also behind 'House of Cards' and "The Social Network," told THR, "He had 60 some miles left in his drive, and he charged for 30 some miles. OK, you're clearly looking to have this break down to make it scandalous. He clearly is anti-electric cars, it clearly was a hit piece."
Of his own Telsa car, Brunetti said, "It's one of the most amazing cars I've ever owned. Every day I get into it, I get blown away. So when I saw that article, I was like, 'Either there's something wrong with the car, or this guy did something wrong.' But now with the data coming out-it was just dumb on this guy's part. He was caught red-handed. You can't argue the facts; everything is logged."
However, Brunetti didn't save his opinions of the review piece for just the Hollywood Reporter. The producer also shared his comments on Twitter, where he retweeted other's commentary with remarks of his own. "Calling it a day and heading home in my Tesla S that I haven't charged for over 2 days. OMG, WILL I MAKE IT?? /sarcasm," Brunetti wrote on Feb. 15.
"Follow @TeslaRoadTrip while 7 cars do the same road trip that the @nytimes did in their hit piece," he tweeted on Sunday. On Tuesday, he added, "Putting my money where my mouth is and buying TSLA."
