The economic superiority battle between China and U.S. has given the former a win when it comes to the smartphone and tablet market.

According to Flurry Analytics, China has topped the U.S. to become the world's top smartphone and tablet market share for the iOS and Android devices.

To conclude the data, Flurry tracked more than 2.4 billion application sessions every day across more than 275,000 apps worldwide.

In reviewing the use of active Android and iOS devices in China and the U.S., China has consistently seen an increase of smartphone and tablet use since January 2011 through early February 2013 while the U.S. has seen dips during mid-2011 and early 2012.

Flurry's figures show China and the U.S. having roughly the same active smartphones and tablets installation base last month. In January, the U.S. saw 222 million installations to China's 221 million.

Flurry used a model to predict February's numbers based on latest trends and conclude that by the end of this month, China will have 246 million smart devices, 14 million more than U.S.'s 230 million active smart devices.

"We also conclude that the U.S. will not take back the lead from China, given the vast difference in population per country. China has over 1.3 billion people while the U.S. has just over 310 million," wrote Flurry's Peter Farago.

"Considering that the U.S. has the world's 3rd largest population, the only other country that could feasibly overtake China sometime in the future is India, with a population of just over 1.2 billion. However, with only 19 million active smart devices in India, China will not likely see competition from India for many years."
