Arsenal is entering into the critical period for the 2012-13 season. The team faces off against Blackburn in the A Cup on Saturday, days before taking on Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stated on Friday that he is confident in his club's ability to win both matches. . "It looks at the start that [winning] the FA Cup is more reachable than any other competition, but you don't really know how difficult it will be. If you compare it to the Premier League certainly, we have more chances to do it because we are too far away in the Premier League," said Wenger.
Regarding the tilt with Blackburn, he added, "We are the favorites [against Blackburn], they're the outsiders, and have nothing to lose. However, if you look at who is in the squad, many of their players have Premier League experience, that is why they are dangerous."
Arsenal is currently in fifth place in the Premier League with 44 points. The Gunners entered the tournament in the third round and drew 2-2 with Swansea in the first game. In the replay, Arsenal won 1-0. In the fourth round, Arsenal managed a 3-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Blackburn entered the tournament in the third round and dispatched Bristal City 2-0. The Rovers then took down Derby County 3-0 in the fourth round. The club is currently in 8th place in the English League Championship with 44 points.
Predictions: Arsenal is home and should win this game. I predict a 3-0 Arsenal victory.
