Comedian Will Ferrell ejected Shaquille O'Neal from the Los Angeles Lakers game Tuesday night when the comedian, in the guise of a security guard, staged a mock confrontation with the NBA superstar.
Ferrell, donning a standard issue red blazer uniform and a not-so-standard nametag that read "Ted Vagina," went onto the court and pretended to carryout his security detail of protecting the players from basketball fanatics.
The outlandish comedian stood at the perimeter of the court facing outward toward the crowd stone-faced, performing his role with authenticity.
Ferrell eventually motions for someone in the crowd to come toward him and all of the sudden Shaquille O'Neal emerges from the crowd as it becomes clear that Shaq is the hooligan he intends to reprimand.
The "red-coat" comedian proceeds to escort Shaq out of the arena while holding both of the gargantuan basketball star's hands behind his back.
As Shaq and Ferrell exit the court area, the crowd is clearly captivated with the impromptu spectacle as photographers snap their cameras and attendees get up from their seats to see what all the fuss was about.
The New York Daily News reported that Ferrell is supposedly teaming up with ex-SNL co-star Kristen Wiig for a sequel to the 2004 blockbuster "Anchorman."
"Just found out Kristen Wiig officially on board for Anchorman 2. Cannonball!" the film's director Adam McKay tweeted.
Christina Applegate, who played Miss Veronica Corningstone in the comedy, also expressed excitement about Wiig's involvement in the sequel.
"So excited Kristen Wiig has joined our cast for anchorman2," she said. "Going 2 b best movie ever made. Besides the best movies ever made."
Ron Burgundy and the crew are expected to be back in theaters Dec. 20, 2013.
