NFL Trade Rumors: Will Percy Harvin be Traded Because of a Bad Attitude?

After having an argument with his head coach, it appears Percy Harvin is available in a trade from the Minnesota Vikings, SB Nation reports.

Although an ankle injury is what officially put Harvin on the Injured Reserve this past season, Mike Max of WCCO in Minneapolis believes the injury was real, but would not have ended his season. It was repeated arguments and disrespect shown toward Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier that shelved Harvin for the rest of the season. During the 2010 campaign, Harvin also allegedly had issues with then-head coach Brad Childress.

Trades are much less common in football than the other American team sports, with most teams electing to fill their needs via drafts or free agent signings. Most players don't earn a lot in return for the team they leave in NFL trades, especially when a bad attitude is part (or all) of the reason for the player being shipped out of town. Though Harvin doesn't have nearly the same success in his career as the man who called himself the best receiver to ever play the game, Randy Moss was traded for a fourth-round pick right before his record-setting performance in his first season with the New England Patriots.

Harvin missed almost half of the 2012 season after being placed on IR, but had 677 receiving yards on 62 catches and tallied three touchdowns. He had a kickoff returned for a touchdown and also notched a rushing TD for the NFC North team. Minnesota made the playoffs and was eliminated in the first round by the division-champion Green Bay Packers 24-10 at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin.
