Nigeria and Burkina Faso face off in the decisive match at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria heads into the match as the favorite after trampling Mali in the semi-final 4-1. The team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 45 minutes and had little to do to clinch the win in the second. Elderson scored in the 25th minute to give Nigeria a 1-0 lead and Brown Ideye doubled the lead at the 30-minute mark. Emmanuel Emenike added the third marker while Ahmed Musa scored the fourth.
Burkina Faso's road to the final was a bit more difficult. The team scored a goal in 105th minute of its quarterfinals match with Togo. In the semifinals, Burkina Faso drew Ghana. The squad managed to tie Ghana 1-1 after 120 minutes and pulled out a decisive 3-2 win in the shootout.
The two teams met in the group stage early in the tournament. Emenike scored in the 23rd minute for Nigeria, but Burkina Faso salvaged a point when Alain Traore scored a goal in the fourth minute of stoppage.
Nigeria will play in the Championship on Sunday for seventh time in this tournament's history. Nigeria was the champion in 1980 and 1994, but lost the title match in 1984, 1988, 1990, and 2000. Burkina Faso will be playing in its first ever championship game in this tournament.
Predictions: I feel a surprise victory for Burkina Faso is possible, but Nigeria has too many weapons and should win 3-0.
