According to the latest trade rumors, the Denver Nuggets may be sweet on the idea of obtaining Kevin Garnett, but the infatuation is strictly a one-way street.
The Nuggets have reportedly expressed interest in Garnett, according to the Denver Post, but the 15-time All-Star has let it be known through his reps that he is not interested in leaving Boston for Denver.
Garnett, who was elected to the NBA All-Star Game despite his declining production numbers this season, holds a no-trade clause in his contract that allows him to veto any potential deal that the Celtics would make to send their superstar big man anywhere he doesn't deem fit for himself.
The Nuggets, at 31-18 in the standings, are actually a pretty good young team and have a slew of pieces they could offer the Celtics, including Andre Iguodala, Kenneth Farried and Danilo Gallinari. However, Garnett has been reluctant to leave the team that he has helped win the 2008 NBA title and helped to another NBA Finals appearance in 2010.
"I bleed green, I die green, that's what it is, but it is a business though, and when it crossed paths with it, I'll deal with it.," he told reporters recently.
This is only the latest trade scenario that has circled around Garnett since Rajon Rondo was lost for the season with a torn ACL in a Jan. 25 game against Atlanta. Reports surfaced earlier this week that the Clippers were expressing interest in acquiring Garnett, with a potential deal involving Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe and small forward Caron Butler.
Reports: Chicago thinking about trading Carlos Boozer
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls said they weren't likely to make any deals before Derrick Rose returns, but the latest reports say they could be looking at trading one of their higher profile players.
Sources told ESPN that the Bulls were involved in exploratory trade discussions with Toronto Raptors, fresh off acquiring star small forward Rudy Gay from Memphis, regarding trading Carlos Boozer for the Raptors'Andrea Bargnani.
While Boozer, who signed with Chicago in 2010, has provided solid offensive production with 15.7 points and 9.6 rebounds this season, sources indicate that the Bulls are interested in Bargnani due to his ability to shoot the three-point shot and slice $5 million off the salary cap by taking Boozer's contract off their hands.
Meanwhile, the Raptors have been considering trading the former No.1 NBA Draft pick Bargnani, who is averaging 15.9 points this season but has missed nearly 30 games with an elbow injury this season.
However, all of this would be contingent upon whether the small-market Toronto could afford having both Gay and Boozer on their payroll going forward.
