Authorities in Denver have released the identities of the mother and two children fatally shot yesterday in what investigators say may be a murder-suicide, according to the El Paso Times.
Mayra Perez, 23, her daughter, Nevaeh Morales, 6, and son Erick Perez, 2, were found dead by police yesterday morning around 7 a.m. in their North Pearl Street home along with a third child, Isabel Perez, 3, who was wounded and is in critical condition, reports say.
Perez's relatives, who live in El Paso, said she called them the night of the shooting and told them about an argument she had with her husband Ricky Perez, reports say, adding that the husband and other relatives stayed at the hospital treating Isabel.
Police say they are not looking for any suspects and gave few details about what appears to be a possible murder-suicide, reports say.
"At this time, we're not looking for any suspects," police Cmdr. Ronald Saunier said yesterday, adding "We have some questions we still need to answer. We still need to complete the investigation."
Mayra Perez, was born in El Paso and was raised in Canutillo as the youngest of five children. Relatives described her as a lively and out going person who was a loving mom.
"She was a wonderful mom. She played a lot with her kids. When shewould come to El Paso, she would enjoy time with the family," Lilian Castro, Perez's oldest sister, said.
Myra and Ricky Perez married two years ago and moved to Denver where Ricky worked as a construction worker, reports say. Neighbors in Denver say the couple moved into their home about three months ago and were described as friendly.
