Kobe Bryant and Vanessa have decided to give their marriage another try--but their cancelled divorce proceedings cost the couple a $3 million-plus mansion.
According to Radar Online, Vanessa sold the 6,000-square-foot mansion that Kobe gave to her in the proceedings for roughly $3.22 million when it closed in mid-January. The house was originally listed at $3.75 million.
The couple announced that they were canceling the divorce proceedings just days afterwards.
Essentially, as the house was given to Vanessa as part of the divorce proceedings, that means she gets to keep the $3 million profit from the house's closing.
The couple bought the mansion, which was built in 1999, in 2003 for about $1 million, and Vanessa's mother, Sofia, has lived in the estate since January, according to TMZ.
The couple's original family home was purchased for a cool $4 million in 2002 and another home that Kobe owns the title to was purchased for $9.4 million in 2008.
Vanessa filed for divorce in December 2011 citing "irreconcilable differences," which appeared to be the end of the couple, whose marriage also made headlines in 2003 amid allegations that Kobe sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman in a Colorado hotel room. The charges never went to trial as an out-of-court settlement was reached between Kobe and the woman.
Shortly after their reconciliation last month, Vanessa and Bryant found themselves defending their marriage after rapper Drake made an unflattering lyrical reference to Vanessa in Rick Ross' song "Stay Scheming".
