The Dallas Stars (4-5-1) will look to build on their confidence when they take on a surging Edmonton Oilers (4-3-2) team.
The Stars have alternated wins and losses in their last four games. In their latest contest, the Stars managed a strong 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Young star Jamie Benn dominated the game with two goals, including one in the first three minutes of play. He also added an assist on the second goal of the game. "That was a good game to be in: Learn to play with the lead, learn to keep that lead," Benn said. "I thought our team did a good job."
The Oilers have lost two straight but have been strong contestants in every match this season. In their latest loss, Edmonton blew a 2-0 lead and ultimately lost in overtime; all the players were frustrated with the outcome.
"Playing with a lead in the third period is foreign to us right now," said winger Taylor Hall. "When our goalie is playing like he is, we should be able to win that game. That last goal at the end, we missed our coverage, we missed our guys, and when you give any player a Grade A scoring chance like that, it has a good chance of going in.
Goalie Devan Dubnyk added that "It's good to get points. We had opportunities to close it out. But we need to get two and not one."
Previous Meetings - This is the first of the season between these two teams. Dallas won all four last year.
Predictions - The Oilers will look to recoup after the loss to Vancouver. Look for them to take down the Stars 3-1.
