Venezuelan actress Myriam Abreu wants the female lead in the new William Levy telenovela "La Tempestad."
Abreu, best known as "La Barbie," did an audition for the role where she was asked to do action sequences with Levy. After the audition she stated that she was very happy with the tests and hopes that she will be able to do the series. She also took the time to reach out to her fans via Twitter and told them to write to the producer Salvador Mejia and tell him that she is the perfect fit for the role.
Lastly, Abreu stated that she hopes her Venezuelan compatriots will give her support and hopes Televisa likes her for the role.
"La Tempestad" has gone through numerous casting sessions in which former Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete tested for the role. Silvia Navarro (Amor Bravio) also auditioned and was then rumored to play the villain. However Navarro stated that she does not think she will have the time for the role and Mejia added that they had never approached Navarro to be the antagonist. Mejia noted that they are looking for a younger actress.
"La Tempestad" is slated to go into production later this year and replace "Amores Verdaderos." Daniela Romo has confirmed her participation with many casting news soon to be announced. The series will be based off the hit Colombian novela "La Tormenta" which starred Christian Meier and Natalia Streignard.
