Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and the rest of the Heat will have to perform twice as good tonight since not only do they have the weight of elimination upon their shoulders but also because they'll be facing the Celitcs who have homecourt advantage.
Having entered the 7-game series with two consecutive wins (also favorites to pull the series off), things quickly overturned for the Heat who lost 3 consecutive against the Boston, including a pivotal Game 5 in Miami.
Lebron James, reportedly, never came up during game 5. The performance, however, may not have anything to do with simply having a bad night. James knows well that his history against the Celtics has not been one to be fond of.
James and the Cavaliers lost against the Celtics in 2008 (seven games) and lost again in 2010 (six games) before taking his talents to Miami. LeBron is perhaps unsuccessfully warding off bad influence from those memories?
"I know how much pain this team has given me over the years. ... It's only right that we will be going up there in an elimination game," said LeBron on Wednesday according to NBA.com.
According to the NBA, Lebron is 2-6 in elimination games and has never successfully pulled of a series where his team was placed in a "win-or-go-home" situation.
Tonight, LeBron has not only the opportunity prove that he and his Heat are championship material, but also the opportunity to cure a dissipating faith on his ability to win pivotal.
Game 6 will take place in TD Garden in Boston with tip-off at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
