While most fans have congratulated singer Beyoncé for her outstanding Halftime performance during Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII at the Superdome in New Orleans, some animal activists are now calling her out for her wardrobe choice. PETA (People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals) slammed the singer for her black python and iguana skin and leather bodysuit by Rubin Singer.
According to the Houston Chronicle, PETA spokesperson told the New York Daily News, "We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposes, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today's fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé's Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score."
The animal rights group also tweeted the same sentiment on their Twitter feed, along with a video entitled "Fashion Victims, Narrated by Tim Gunn." The four minute long video shows gruesome imagery of several animals being skinned, sometimes alive, for the sake of fashion.
This isn't the first time that PETA have commented on Beyoncé's wardrobe choices. Animal rights activist criticized the R&B singer earlier this year after she wore a mink coat to her performance during President Obama's Inauguration ceremony.
