The Winnipeg Jets (3-4-1) look to recover from a disastrous three-game road trip when they host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday evening.
The Jets have not played at home since a 5-4 overtime win over the New York Islanders. During their three-game trip the Jets suffered humiliation after humiliation and came away without a single point. They lost 4-3 to Montreal on the 29th of January before being blown out by the Florida Panthers 6-3 and Tampa Bay Lighting 8-3. The Jets gave up three power play goals against the Lightning in the first period and the score was 6-0 after 40 minutes of play.
"We can't afford to do this again. To dig yourself that big of a hole two games in a row, two big road games against two division teams is unacceptable and something that will not happen again," said Captain Andrew Ladd.
The Panthers meanwhile have won two straight after a tough start. In its latest effort, Florida battled back from a 3-1 deficit to win 4-3 in Buffalo. "We're building character," said forward Stephen Weiss. "We've strung a couple of wins together, which was nice. But as a team, we're now 3-5."
Previous Meetings: The Panthers took down the Jets at home 6-3 on Jan. 31. Tomas Fleishmann had three assists in the game while goalie Jose Theodore made 22 saves in the victory.
Predictions: The Jets are excellent at home and should be excited to exact revenge on Florida; 6-4 Winnipeg.
