Donald Trump is not the off-spring of an orangutan and he wants to make it clear to anyone that has any doubts. For that reason is he suing HBO show host Bill Maher $5 million.
According to TMZ, Maher joked during an interview with Jay Leno that he would offer $5 million to any charity of Trump's choosing if the billionaire could prove that he is not "spawn of his mother having sex with orangutan."
In response to Maher's statement Trump stated that "I don't think he was joking. He said it with venom. That was venom. That wasn't a joke. In fact, he was nervous when he said it. It was a pathetic delivery. "
According to sources, Trump filed a lawsuit in a California court on Monday with Trump's birth certificate provided as evidence.
Gawker notes that Maher's comments were subversions of Trump's own challenge of President Barack Obama. Trump had challenged Obama a few years ago to provide proof of his birth. "I have a deal for the president, a deal that I don't believe he can refuse, and I hope he doesn't. If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications, and if he gives his passport applications and records, I will give, to a charity of his choice-inner-city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research, anything he wants-a check, immediately, for $5 million," said Trump.
After Obama won the election in November 2012, Trump ranted about the victory and claimed that the United States was no longer a democracy.
