The wait is finally over! Shakira and Gerard Pique have finally published their first picture of their newborn child Milan Pique Mebarak.
The Colombian pop star posted the picture on her page of the UNICEF website. The image shows Pique planting a kiss on the right cheek of his minuscule son Milan. According to CBS news, Shakira is promoting the picture to help raise money for UNICEF. The singer is accepting donations of $5 - $110 in celebration of Milan's Jan 22 birth; all the proceeds will go toward UNICEF's efforts.
"We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations," Shakira said in a statement. "Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us."
Shakira also tweeted: "Visit our @Unicef #Babyshower to see the 1st pic of my 2 angels & help underprivileged babies https://uni.cf/baby Shak."
This is the first official picture of Milan's face but the couple had already released an image of his feet. Shakira's mother recently stated that Shakira was thrilled to be a mother and enjoyed breastfeeding Milan.
The Colombian singer gave birth on Jan.22 and was released from the clinic on Jan. 27. She had a C-section and will resume her performing in a few weeks. Shakira is also slated to replace Christina Aguilera as a judge on NBC show "The Voice."
