The funeral of former New York City Mayor Ed Koch is set today with approximately 2,000 people in the Temple Emanu-El.
Koch passed away on Fri., Feb. 1, of congestive heart failure. He was 88 years old.
Currently lined up to speak at the memorial will be current New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former President Bill Clinton, and the Israeli consul general, and more.
Koch became the 105th mayor for the U.S.'s largest city in 1978 and is credited to help the economic struggles the city faced. Koch's time as mayor ended in 1989 when David Dinkins won the Democratic nomination for mayor.
