The San Jose Sharks (7-0-0) will look to continue their perfect start when they host the struggling Nashville Predators (2-2-3).
After dominating opponents through their first five games, the Sharks have squeezed out a couple of close victories. San Jose beat Anaheim in a 3-2 shootout win on Tuesday before blowing a 2-0 lead against Edmonton and winning in the shootout on Thursday. After scoring nine goals in the first five games, Patrick Marleau has been held scoreless in the last two; Joe Thornton had 13 points through the first five games but has had just one in the last two.
The Nashville Predators broke a five game skid when they took down the defending champion Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in a shootout on Thursday night. Pekka Rinne made 23 saves during overtime and regulation and added another four during the shootout to lead Nashville to its second victory of the season. The Predators have been a perennial favorite to lock a playoff spot for years, but their poor offensive display coupled with untimely defensive lapses has led to a poor start.

Predictions: The Sharks are bound to lose at some point, but not in this game. Nashville wins this only if Rinne picks up a shutout. Otherwise expect a 5-2 San Jose drubbing.
