Expect to be rocked at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards this year. The Recording Academy has put together a rather impressive bill of superstars that will take the stage Feb. 10, providing the Grammys with the dazzle and shine that we all expect.
Some of the big names that will perform on Grammy Sunday are Rihanna, Mumford & Sons, Justin Timberlake, and Taylor Swift, of course. What's any awards ceremony without a performance from America's sweetheart? Or America's notorious bad girl for that matter? Rihanna will be taking the stage after touring through Berlin with her on again/off again relationship Chris Brown.
Among the more recently added to the bill is Justin Timberlake, launching his music comeback with yet another Grammy performance. It will be the singers first time back to the Grammys stage in four years. One would only hope to see JT perform his newest single "Suit & Tie" with featured artist Jay-Z, who took home six Grammy nods including 'Best Rap Performance' and 'Best Rap/Sung Collaboration'. Timberlake plans to drop his first album in seven years on March 19.
Also added to bill is the new, much celebrated R&B singer Frank Ocean, who's also up for six awards including 'Record of the Year' for his song Thinkin' 'Bout You. It will be Ocean's first time hitting the Grammy stage, but should have no problem wooing the crowd as one of the nation's newest heartthrobs. Ocean's Channel Orange sold 443,000 copies by the end of 2012 and is a top contender for 'Album of the Year.'
Frank Ocean is predicted to be the big winner. He's top contender for almost all of his nominations, including the biggies 'Best New Artist' and 'Album of the Year.' Among the likely to succeed on Feb. 10 isthe new pop rock trio Fun. (also six nominations), who's album Some Nights was catapulted by their hit song We Are Young. The song is nominated for 'Record of the Year' and is favored to win the category.
All the performers and nominees alike at this year awards put together an impressive cast, and it just so happens that every group nominated in the 'Album of the Year' category will be performing live, hoping to prove to the audience why they deserve to take home the gold. A full list of this years nominations can be viewed below.
This year's biggest night in music is shaping up to be one that won't be forgotten, and with such an extraordinary bill of performers, it's impossible not to be.
