Arsenal is slowly running out of time to jump into the top four in the Premier league. They will try to take a major step forward when Arsene Wenger's club takes on Liverpool Wednesday.

Arsenal is coming off a 3-2 win in the FA Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion. Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott were the heroes in that match and continue to be among the top performers for Arsenal. However the team needs more consistency if it wants to keep pace with such clubs as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea; Arsenal has won just once in its last four premier league matches. With 37 points, Arsenal is in sixth place and out of a spot for the Champions league and Europa League next season. Everton has 38 points but Tottenham (41) and Chelsea (45) are starting to pull away from the pack in third and fourth place.

Arsenal's Wednesday opponent Liverpool is just three points behind and also desperate to get back in the race. Brendan Rodger's club has won three of its last four matches, including an emphatic 5-0 win over Norwich City. Five different players tallied for Liverpool including Luis Suárez who leads the team with 16 goals.

The last time these teams met was on Sep. 2 when Arsenal won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla.

Prediction: It will be a tightly contested match, but Arsenal will find a way to win 3-1.
