The last new episode of "The Powerpuff Girls" was in 2005, fulfilling 78 episodes and a movie, and now in 2013, the girls are back for a special.
Cartoon Network (CN) has confirmed Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, the superhero of Townsville created by "Sugar, spice, and everything nice," with Chemical X, will return in a redesigned special with "re-imagined" computer graphics.
According to a statement issued by CN, the special will feature the Powerpuff Girls to rescue not just the city of Townsville but the world.
The special will also feature Beatle Ringo Starr as flamboyant mathematician "Fibonacci Sequins" and will feature an original song titled "I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl."
Although the special will have different graphics compared to how the 1998-2005 show was, the original voice actors are confirmed to be back.
Voice actor Tara Strong, voice of Bubbles, took to Twitter to acknowledge the news.
