With the Super Bowl coming this Sunday, it isn’t only the tackles and touchdowns that will capture people’s attention, but the commercials too.
Mercedes-Benz has revealed their Super Bowl advertisement which will feature model Kate Upton, and the ad has so far captured mixed reviews, even from the Parents Television Council (PTC).
"This ad [reinforces] for millions of wives, daughters and sisters across the country that you use your sex appeal to get what you want," a PTC spokesperson complained to Daily Mail. "If anything, this ad proves that we’ve regressed rather than progressed over the last several years."
Twitter users tweeted their thoughts:
I hear @kateupton will be in a spot this year for Mercedes. I'm thinking that one will be pretty popular.

After watching the new Mercedes Benz commercial, I conclude that Kate Upton is not that attractive. Average at best #sorry

Another ad getting attention is by Volkswagen.
The ad features seven actors in a tiny elevator, transitioning to events taking place in an office while a white worker speaks with an accent. The ad ultimately leads to a version of Bob Marley’s "Come on Get Happy.”
According to USA Today, the ad’s 10-second elevator scene was done 100 times.
"It's all in the eyes," said commercial director Tom Kuntz, explaining he wasn’t satisfied at first with the sarcastic expressions the actors were supposed to portray.
Volkswagen has a lot to live up to after the popular “The Force” advertisement featuring a kid dressed as Darth Vader in 2011, which has so far garnered over 55.9 million views on YouTube.
Volkswagen’s 2012 commercial featured a dog working out and ultimately chasing a Beetle.
