Rudy Eugene, the naked man who carried out the cannibal attack in Miami against another naked man, was found biting the man's face off, tearing it to pieces, and only stopped his cannibalistic acts when shot to death by police forces.
For almost 18 minutes, Miami's cars, passer-bys, and the Miami Herald's surveillance cameras were witnesses of, arguably, the goriest crime to hit the region for years.
The unprovoked attack on the homeless man is one tragic happening with Sgt. Javier Ortiz describing the incident with, "It was not only grotesque, it was just very sad, the amount of blood. It was very sad to see what happened to this gentleman that had his face eaten," according to the Associated Press.
65-year-old Ronald Poppo, the victim who suffered the zombie-styled attack, ended up with most of his face, including his nose, mouth and eyes eaten to the point where his bones were sticking out.

The Miami Herald reported that as of Tuesday, Poppo remained in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
The face-chewing attacking incident started at approximately 1:55 p.m., May 26, and police officers arrived at 2:11 p.m. and Eugene at approximately 2:14 p.m.
Eugene, 31, was somewhat paranoid according to his ex-wife Jenny Ductant, but not really mentally ill, she told WPLG-TV.
The motives behind the attack are not clear and according to the police, stimulants or other types of drugs may have played a role in the attack.
The results for the toxicology tests on Rudy Eugene should be announced in a couple of weeks.
