Yesterday, the fashion forward First Lady did not disappoint during the ceremonies during President Obama's second-term Inauguration. While supporters celebrated the two-term president, the world watched as Michelle Obama dazzled viewers with her chic and stylish ensembles.

She started the day off wearing a gray, checkered coat by American designer Thom Browne and J. Crew shoes to a morning church service held at St. John's Church. Afterward at President Obama's inaugural address, she accessorized her coat with a belt from J. Crew, Reed Krakoff suede boots and a pair of purple J. Crew leather gloves.

Later on at the indoor swearing-in ceremony and the presidential inaugural luncheon, the style icon showed off a navy-silk dress, also designed by Thom Browne, a necklace by Cathy Waterman and a cardigan by Reed Krakoff.

The First Lady's outfit was much more subdued compared to what she wore to Obama's first inauguration back in 2009. At that ceremony, she wore a bright yellow coat and matching dress by Isabel Toledo which represented optimism and change. While most fashion experts complimented the FLOTUS' sleek and sophisticated look on Monday, others criticized it saying that her color choice wasn't bright enough.

The First Daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, were also well put together. Malia wore a plum-colored J. Crew coat with a burgundy-colored scarf and an electric-blue dress, while her younger sister Sasha had on a Kate Spade coat and matching purple dress.

However, it was the bright red Jason Wu dress that she premiered at the Inauguration Ball that left people awestruck. The dress was slightly pleated and showed off her famously toned arms.

Mrs. Obama also wore a Jason Wu gown in 2009 at President Obama's first Inaugural Ball.
