Shakira and Pique's first baby will born on Tuesday Jan. 22 according to Spanish Sources.
Although La Razon reported that the star was planning to induce labor to have the baby on Jan. 21, the Associated Press reports that the baby would be born on Tuesday. The gynecologist who is caring for the singer decided to do induce the delivery on Jan. 22 because of the baby's large size and the late stage in the pregnancy.
It was also reported that Pique stated on his Instagram that his son would be born on Tuesday. However the information was never confirmed.
According to the Huffington Post's confidential source, Shakira requested that the team assisting her gynecologist Carlota Garcia-Valdecasas should be composed only of women and those who participate in the labor had to sign a confidentiality agreement to avoid leakage and disclosure of information or photos.
The source also stated that Shakira organized everything to the smallest detail. The following was also stated: "though Shakira has always asked to have a natural childbirth, it is quite possible that, because of the enormous size of the baby, it could be a C-section. That is why within the medical team, they also have a plastic surgeon to assist her."
Shakira was brought to the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona early on Sunday. She was accompanied by her two brothers.
Shakira and Pique have recently hit the headlines after posting pictures of Shakira's baby bump on Twitter. The couple also launched their virtual baby shower and asked fans to contribute to the organization UNICEF.
The couple met in 2010 on the set of Shakira's music video "Waka Waka" and confirmed that they were dating in 2011 via her Twitter account.
