Kardashians Pranked Twice This Weekend With Fake 911 Calls

The Kardashians are the latest celebrities to fall prey to a prank called "swatting." That's when someone makes a fake 911 call and claims to be calling from inside a celebrity's home.

On Friday, Jan. 18, police received a 911 call from an "armed intruder" who was "allegedly hiding inside of a closet" in the L.A. home of Kris and Bruce Jenner, according to MStarnews.com's Danica Bellini. The caller apparently told police that "someone was shot inside the house and that armed suspects were still inside."

Police immediately surrounded the house, shut down the entire street, and surveyed the area with helicopters, as at least 15 officers searched the Jenner home. Olympic Star Bruce Jenner, his wife Kris, the so-called 'momager' of the Kardashian clan, and their teenage daughters Kendall and Kylie waited outside as cops searched their home for an intruder.

The police found no evidence of a break-in, and the call seems to have been a hoax, though L.A. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says it's too soon to tell whether this was an instance of "swatting," according to the Associated Press.

Kendall Jenner, who rose to fame on Keeping Up the the Kardashians along with her older sisters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney, tweeted about the incident, "I love it when 8 police officers show up at my door and 10 cop cars are outside my house. just another casual Friday evening at the Jenner household. #nbd #EveryonesOk."

Kim Kardashian also took to Twitter to vent about the 911 scare. "These prank calls are NOT funny!" she tweeted Friday, calling the hoax "dangerous."

The drama wasn't over on Friday, though. The next day, "someone called 911 and falsely reported an emergency at a former Malibu residence of the Kardashians," says MyFox8.com. Police arrived and found the home empty.

No arrests have been made in either case.

The Kardashians are the latest in a string of celebrities targeted by so-called "swatting" pranks. Earlier this month, an anonymous 911 caller falsely reported a robbery at Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills home, according to ABC News, and in December, "a boy was arrested after police said he made calls that reported violence at the homes of Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher."
