Socially conscious rapper Lupe Fiasco is known for incorporating controversial politics into his music. The anti-establishment hip hop artist has publicly criticized President Obama's stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and referred to him as "the biggest terrorist" due to his support of drone strikes. So it should come as no surprise that the outspoken artist rapped about his discontent with Obama's pro-Israel stance during the recent Gaza conflict while he performed at an inaugural ceremony on Sunday night. The only surprise was the fact that he was invited to perform in the first place.

Video footage captures the rebel rapper on stage at the Hamilton Live theater in Washington, D.C. during the StartUp RockOn inauguration party where he performed his song "Words I Never Said" and bashed the president stating:

"Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist," he rapped. "Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say s---. That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either."

Thereafter, the video jumps to a scene where security guards escort him off the stage. According to Foreign Policy's Josh Rogin, Lupe was asked to leave the stage after he played an anti-war song for 30 mins. Rogin tweeted,"So Lupe played one anti-war song for 30 min and said he didn't vote for Obama and eventually was told to move on to the next song," he tweeted adding "Lupe refused to move to the next song so a team of security guards came on stage and told him to go."

However, HyperVocal.com released a statement on Monday declaring that the organizers of the party did not kick him off stage for his "anti-Obama rant," but rather because he continued to play the same song over and over. The statement reads:

"Lupe Fiasco performed at this private event, and as you may have read, he left the stage earlier than we had planned. But Lupe Fiasco was not 'kicked off stage' for an 'anti-Obama rant.' We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act."
