Glossy gray and white counters are pictured all over social media these days. Marble counter tops have become super popular as the backdrop for photos of coffee, shoes, and even watches.
Now, you can have the latest beauty trend as a design for your nails.
Marble nails have possibly already invaded your social media timelines already. With over 31,000 search results on the hashtag #marblenails on Instagram, it is safe to say trendy beauty mavens need to get this trend on lock.
The hashtag yields results to beauticians who can perfect the look for you. As TODAY writes, for those located in the Big Apple, Vanity Projects is a location to get it done. The Salon manager, Lisa Lopez, told the news outlet that customers ask for a range of different marble looks. "Costumers request everything from marbling for the entire nail to a negative space effect and even just marbling on the tips of the nails," writes TODAY.
The look can also be achieved with colors other than the classic white-and-black marble.
If you do not have the economic means to head over to your local salon, there is another way to get the look. In just a few easy steps, you can do it yourself!
Tools:
Toothpick, Brush, Base coat, Top coat, Two nail colors
5 Step Process:
First, apply a base coat and then one or two coats of a color of your choice. This coclor will be whichever color you want as the background for your marble. If you're trying to create the white marble look then apply white.
Secondly, take color that will crate the marble effect and make very tiny dots on top of the white coat using a toothpick.
Thirdly, make very tiny dots of the base color as well.
Fourthly, use the toothpick or a tiny brush to randomly swirl the colors around. Lopez advises adding some thinner to the brush if you want to create more of a blurry marble look.
Lastly, wait for the marble design to dry. Then apply a top coat and let dry. If going for the matte look, opt for a matte finish top coat.
