The identity of the "hot debate guy" became the main focus of the Republican presidential debate Wednesday night over Twitter.

As FOX 8 Cleveland cites, according to social media one of the top concerns of the GOP debate was the name of the attractive mystery man sitting behind CNN anchor and debate moderator Jake Tapper.

The hashtag #hotdebateguy and #mysteryhottie began to swirl around the internet - taking over the twitterverse as viewers pondered, adored, and even asked out the sexy stranger.

@desmondalan "The most appealing person at the debate ‪#hotdebateguy"

@Eleshepp "Hot guy behind Jake Tapper update: Still hot."

@minusthefangs "‪@BuzzFeed can the Internet find out who the hot guy behind jake tapper is?  Thnx. ‪#GOPDebate"

@outriight "shoutout to the guy behind jake tapper, ur the only reason i havent thrown my tv out the window. i luv u."

@samuel_ha_ "Can we ask this guy his views? Or primarily what his ideal first date is? ‪#GOPDebate ‪#HotDebateGuy"

Others even considered more drastic measures.

@btryback "Thinking of turning Republican for the hottie behind Jake Tapper, someone please stop me."

@TD_fields "So we all agree that the hot guy behind Jake Tapper is winning, right?"

And one twitter user even settled the $10 bill debate.

@Ashbykent "Time to just put the ‪#HotDebateGuy on the ten dollar bill"

Looks like this guy as the big winner last night.

CNN so graciously did a bit of digging and found out who the delicious debate guy is. His name is Greg Caruso, the son of Rick Caruso, a billionaire and California real estate developer.

In regards to the unsolicited attention he received at the GOP debate, Greg said. "It's pretty hilarious. Social media can focus on some guy at the debate instead of the debate." The 24-year old who reportedly does not have any social media networks, told CNN he was receiving texts from his friends about his rise to Twitter fame.

Greg attended Brentwood High School and then the University of Southern California. He is an aspiring filmmaker. Based on the attention he received last night, he could probably pursue an on-air gig as well.

Unfortunately, Greg's relationship status is still a mystery. Sorry Twitterverse!
