Next week, consumers will finally get to see the iPhone 5, the savior of all consumers and the bane of all industry rivals. But it will be another month before consumers will get to glimpse the iPad mini. Rumors have spread across the internet about the new gadget but Apple has yet to release any official photographs about the new tablet.
But the guys over at Mac Rumors went ahead and made up their own visual mockup. Utilizing CiccareseDesign, they concocted a full High Resolution 3D Mockup of the the iPad mini and even took the license of creating their own additions to the tablet.
In accordance with rumors, they made the screen 7.85 inches and also made it as thin as the iPod Touch. They produced a number of photographs with the iPad mini alongside the current iPad to show how it would compare. The new device would be offer only 66 percent of the surface area of the current 9.7 inch iPad and would contain 40 percent more surface area than the standard 7-inch tablets.
The creators took license with where to place the headphone jack. Original renderings show the jack in the same location as that of the standard iPad, but according to Macrumors.com more recent photographs have claimed the jack to be next to the dock connector as it is with the iPod touch.
This is by no means what the tablet will look like, but based on rumors circulating for weeks, it offers viewers and consumers a preview and idea of what may ultimately be coming out in a few months.
Below is a video provided by Macrumors that gives viewers a full opportunity to experience the 3D rendering.
