The cast of the upcoming film is welcoming a new addition, and rumors are saying that she could very well play Batman's surrogate mother.
ComingSoon has posted a press release several days ago, confirming that Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamoto are joining the cast of "Batman vs Superman." According to the report, all three stars are set to play characters newly created for the film.
ComicBookResources speculates, "An actress of Hunter's caliber could easily play an Amazon from Themyscira, if Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman has a big enough part to warrant dipping into her backstory." The outlet adds that the award-winning actress could also fill in the role as the owner of Daily Planet or even work for Lex Luthor.
However, Latinos Review has a totally different take on what Holly Hunter's role in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" might be. The outlet says that according to what they've heard, the actress is playing the role of Dr. Leslie Thompkins or a Leslie Thompkins replacement character, as they put it.
The character has apparently appeared in "Batman: The Animated Series," notes Latinos Review and can be described as a female version of Alfred. "She knew Batman's identity and would treat Bruce for medical injuries he couldn't go to a hospital for," the outlet adds.
CinemaBlend says that having Holly Hunter as Dr. Thompkins would somehow make sense, considering that the character has some sort of romantic tie with Alfred. "Given that we're talking the velvety voice of Jeremy Irons, clearly the sexiest of all Alfreds, that would make sense," the report suggests.
It would also be helpful to note that Snyder has said in the press release, "Holly has always been one of my favorite actresses; she has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her."
Who do you think will Holly Hunter play as in "Batman vs Superman?"
