The "Star Wars" actor has decided to quit the competition three weeks into the show.

The 77-year old said that due to back problems, he has decided to withdraw from the competition. He is reportedly suffering from chronic back pain and has been advised by his doctor against dancing, says Entertainment Weekly.

His pro partner Emma Slater, has allegedly choreographed two other female guest dancers into their routine last week as help, notes NJ.com. "Emma was definitely the partner I needed," Williams said. "I'm really glad for the relationship we created," he added.

Williams not only thanked his partner, Slater. He also said that he will always remember his time on the show, reports ABC News. He also thanked everyone, saying "And I want to thank every one of you folks who've been supporting us." The crowd responded by giving him a standing ovation.

Billy Dee's voluntary exit meant that no one got eliminated after showcasing their "Most Memorable Year of My Life" routines, which was critiqued by guest judge Robin Roberts who joined the resident panel of judges.

The "Good Morning America" co-host remarked, "To experience this electric atmosphere firsthand is remarkable." She also commended the contestants who, in her words, brought "such joy into our lives."

The first of the contestants were James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd who jived to Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" and scored 36. NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani scored a 31 for their rumba to "I Believe in You and Me" by Whitney Houston.

Cody Simpson and Witney Carson performed a jazz routine to the tune of the crooner's "Surfboard," garnering a score of 35. Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy went contemporary with Billy Joel's "Lullabye," tying the score with James and Peta at 36.

Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke did a waltz to "Fade Into You" scoring 30 while Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy did a tricky fox trot dance to the tune of John Legend's "All of Me." The tricks, which reportedly had the pro dancer nervous, seem to have paid off as the pair scored a whooping 39.

Amy Purdy and Derek Hough chose Christina Perri's "Human," looking back to 1999 when she lost her legs to meningitis. The pair scored 36, tying with James and Peta, Danica and Val as well as Charlie White and Sharna Burgess, who jived to Pharrell William's "Happy."

Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas, who were one of the low scorers last week at 21 points, jived to Elvis Presley's "Blue Suede Shoes" and got 32.

The contestants will be switching partners next week. Who do you want to see dancing together?
