Ann Curry's "Today" replacement, Savannah Guthrie, is apparently too tall compared to co-anchor Matt Lauer that she has been ordered to wear shorter shoes and even lower her chair when sitting next to him.
The New York Post stated that Guthrie stands at 5-foot-10, but with heels can stand up to six feet tall.
The Post also reported that a source to the NBC morning show said "Guthrie's height has become an issue."
In a blog, Guthrie previously wrote, "I always go barefoot [when at the news desk] because I was told one of the first times I filled in that I'm too tall for the set."
However, upon word of the height issue was raised, Guthrie stated to the Post, "Sorry, folks, but that tale is as tall as my heels."
A representative of the show stated, "It's not exactly a state secret that Savannah's taller than her co-hosts in heels, but NBC doesn't dictate the height of her heels or her chair. Savannah owns heels of all heights and likes to mix up her footwear, and she adjusts her seat as she sees fit."
Shoes, or style in general, has been a topic before for "Today" as Ann Curry told Ladies' Home Journal about times her outfit choices were questioned.
"One day I wore a multicolored dress and someone asked if I was trying to be Toucan Sam. But I chose it because I thought, 'this will perk up America,'' said Curry. "I'm encouraged by my bosses to wear these ridiculously high-heeled shoes because women say, 'I love your shoes!' So if it makes women happy, I'll wear them. But I'm still going to be me... I've tried to wear clogs and flats on TV and it hasn't gone well with my bosses."
Curry's height is far shorter compared to Guthrie. The ex-co-anchor stands at 5-foot-6.
The news for the morning news show comes after Radar Online reported Lauer ordered the "Today" cast to not appear on CNN's "Piers Morgan" due to inevitable questions about Curry's departure as well as Lauer's "popularity" diminishing among staffers.
