Microsoft and Sony have revealed which free games are coming to their premium subscribers in November. While Sony is offering some free PlayStation 4 titles for PlayStation Plus members, Microsoft has chosen to remain focused on the Xbox 360.
Gamespot is reporting that the two free games available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be A World of Kelfings and Iron Bridge. In A World of Kelfings players build kingdoms and play as a giant who must help the much smaller Kelfings build a city to live in. This game will be available from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15. After that, Iron Bridge will be available until Nov. 30. Iron Bridge a third-person tower defense game made by Double Fine, the studio behind Brutal Legend and Costume Quest.
Meanwhile, Sony will be offering many different free games for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita owners. The full list of games can be found on the PlayStation Blog. The PlayStation 3 will have three games available for free: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, a hack and slash dungeon crawler that tasks players to explore the secrets of Bitterblack Isle; Ibb & Obb, a co-op puzzle game where players work together to solve gravity-based levels; and Binary Domain.
For the Vita, players will be able to snag the classic Oddworld: Strangers Wrath. In addition to this remade PlayStation 2 title, players can also download Soul Sacrifice for the PlayStation Vita as well.
Finally, PlayStation Plus owners will be able to play two downloadable PlayStation 4 games for free when the console launches on Nov. 15. One of those games is Resogun, a throwback to side-scrolling, shoot-em-up games that takes advantage of the PlayStation 4's graphics to update the experience. The second game available is Contrast, which mixes both 2-D and 3-D graphics along with platforming and puzzle elements to draw in players who may want to take a break from the more explosive PlayStation 4 launch titles.
Both Sony and Microsoft are offering some solid, if unspectacular, free titles, which should be worth trying out in November.
